Specialist comfort at Ranfurly Manor

The recent development of Ranfurly Manor has brought an innovative level of service and sophistication to aged care in Fielding.

The facility used to provide long term, respite and day care to fifty heavily dependent elderly residents. Since Tom Brankin bought the business in 2009 he set about establishing far higher standards of care and a greater level of expertise in the staff.

Now, with the move to the new facility, he can deliver this care in every possible detail. With the opening of phase one of the new development this capability has been increased to 160 beds with 75 hospital, 25 dementia and 60 apartments with 24-hour care.

Comfort and adaptability was top of the list when it came to furniture requirements in such a facility. Tom said, “We needed a high quality recliner chair that could be easily moved when and where necessary.” The scoping for the work was straightforward and stress-free. “I simply called in to chat with Hildy (Kovacs) and looked over all the options.”

The result? Fifty Seddon Recliner Motorised Chairs were placed in resident’s rooms. Additionally two Mercedes Recliner Motorized Chairs and two Mercedes Recliner Chairs were also ordered. The comfort these chairs provide is highly important to the overall quality of care Ranfurly provides. “Many of our residents spend a lot of time sitting,” said Tom. “We want to make that time as relaxing as possible.”

The positive feedback on the new chairs from residents and their families proves Tom’s insistence on quality has paid off. Now, with phase two of the new development, his careful approach to geriatric care will benefit those who need it most.
