Five designs common sense forgot

What were they thinking?

1) The hobbit
. Either a joke, a secret entrance to an underground lair or, most likely, an artistic flight of fancy that should have stayed at the concept stage.

2) The pattern pitfall. For that wonderful ‘drunk and on a boat’ sensation walking down the stairs.

3) The back breaker. It may be that these pieces are simply mismatched. Because it would take a particular type of sadist to purposefully design such uncomfortable uselessness.

4) The drink spiller. Comfort for the elbows is all well and good but the angle on this table certainly isn’t obvious and, we believe, probably the cause of many a spill and harsh word.

5) The rear-guard action. The butt stops here? This cheeky design stands out for all the wrong reasons.
