Samantha looks back and steps up
Samantha Hurd has been hard at work in our North Island market – and the success of the Kovacs brand here is undoubtedly due to the style and substance our sales manager has introduced.
Now, two years since she arrived, it seems the perfect time to check in with how everything is going both in the showroom and around the streets of Auckland.
Samantha is unequivocal as to where the success stems from. “It’s the inspiration of Hildy (Kovacs) that has propelled the brand to new heights recently,” she says.
She believes this recent evolution was obvious to all at the recent Conversations On The Couch event. “Hildy has taken the design aesthetic and really evolved it and developed it,” she says “It is just looking beautiful.”
“Each of the pieces follows such a carefully balanced path of form and function – with the very considered, thoroughly resolved approach there is also the optimum comfort, the right seat height, the right depth, and the result is furniture that appeals to a wide variety of people.”
Here the reliability of the design is matched by the conduct of the Kovacs team members.
“I appreciate the honesty of the company,” says Samantha. “They’re not game-players. It starts at the top, it is expected that if you’re in the team, you’re going to have integrity and you’re going to get on with the job.”
She takes pride in her work, where it’s always a case of taking a “big picture” view with each conversation.
“You work really hard to get a customer. And it’s very easy to lose them. So you have to make sure they’re having a great experience before, during and after the sale.”
To do so she’s currently “all over the place, in the showroom, in the cafes and businesses with the clients”. But she wouldn’t change it for anything.
“I love getting out there and spreading the message – and it (the brand recognition) is certainly growing here (in Auckland).”
