Russell Taylor’s sporting success
Back in November last year we profiled Russell Taylor, who mentioned then how much he enjoyed getting out with his wife Barbara on their mountain bikes. It comes as no surprise that he wasn’t referring to a leisurely pedal, especially with recent news of his sporting exploits.
Teaming up with Barbara, Russ won the duathalon event in the 2014 New Zealand Masters Games. Held in Dunedin at the start of February, the event covers a run/cycle/run format. Competition is intense - and their experience proved helpful in the victory. Russ has been competing in the Games for the last 16 years and in this time has won two gold medals and two silver.
We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Russ and Barbara. Awesome work! We wish them all the best for the next trail run at Arrowtown and in their potential run for the World Masters Games.
